Blogs Take On New Meaning for Window Shades

Blogs once thought of a quirky diary type posts for all the Internet visitors to read, have caught the attention of business owners who now use blogs as a way of advertising their wares.
If you own a discount blinds store, either online or a real-world store, it is in your best interest to blog about the store to gain more customers without blowing your entire advertising budget. Some blogs are specific to a certain category such as making money or customer service and you would write your blog article slanted towards that specific topic. What this does is get your product’s name and your business’s name out into the web world where the three major search engines will help pick it up and help to make your ranking higher on Yahoo!, Google and MSN. You want to be ranked high on these search engine pages because people do not look farther than the first page of the search engine just as people don’t look past the first page of the phonebook when looking for a business.
A blog can contain a review of your products such as window shades, discount blinds and other window treatments. You can dedicate a blog to energy-efficient window shades that will help the consumer save money by replacing their old curtains with money-saving window shades that help to keep the air conditioning in during the summer while allowing the heat from the sun to help keep the home warm in the winter months.
The best thing about blogs is you do not have to be a professional writer to write a blog. They are more conversational in their tone than article orientated writing is. As a business owner of a window coverings company, you might have some of your customers right short reviews to place on blogs so that people can read what your satisfied customers are saying about their experience about doing business with your company and how they are enjoying your product or how your product is helping them save energy and money.
In addition to writing a review of each of the products your website or a real-world store has to offer, you may want to explore the benefits of each of the products especially in today’s economy when people are looking to save money anywhere they can. If wooden blinds save more energy than cloth blinds your blog could be written about these benefits. Or you could write about the simple fact that window blinds save more money by cutting energy costs over curtains alone by a large percent.
People like information in an easy to digest small bites and that’s what blogs are all about. They do not get too technical and they are not very long like some articles can be. People find it difficult to read long passages on the computer and sometimes tend to tune out after several paragraphs of technical information so it’s best to stick with smaller paragraphs and concise, relevant information.
