When Hardware Held Me Back
Sep 7th, 2007 by admin

So about 2 weeks ago I found a couple of lines of dead pixels on my MacBook. I could not deal with it - so I sent it to Apple. After maybe 3 days, Apple calls me to tell me that I need a new logic board, or motherboard for the price of $800. I was so pissed off I spent the entire day on the phone with them. After hours of being switched from department to department I was able to catch a break. They said they were going to investigate the “alleged” damages and get back to me. To my surprise, Apple offered to cover the price tag of the repairs. I couldn’t be happier. The only downside was that I would be without my computer for even longer. Using my girlfriend’s Compaq while trying to manage my blogs proved to be exhausting. Not to mention the “b” and “t” keyboard buttons are broken on her computer which was absolute torture! My computer came back with a new LCD display, and logic board - I finally have my MacBook back and I could not be happier. The moral of this story is to always be prepared for potential computer problems! So that when something does happen, and it eventually will, you won’t be putting your blog out of commission at the same time.
